Nov 3, 2015

Dads clearly tolerate violence more than moms. Thats clear. But they all agree on sexuality and body image. These are a few of the outcomes of our recent study. …it is very evident that dads are more tolerant to violence and scary elements in kids’ apps than moms. Scary messages and violence in kids’ apps were ‘the top of the list’ where moms and dads differ. Clearly dads think children can absorb violent and scary messages almost a year younger.

After we got turned down by all the major studios, we looked into hiring a crew, a studio and self producing it but that’s when our bank account got in the way. As tenacious entrepreneurs do we went back to the drawing board.

Pooff… we just evaporated $4B

May 30, 2015

$4B!! That is FOUR Billion with capital B, that evaporated only in the past year from the pockets of packaged goods giants. The Krafts, Campbells and General Mills of the world are all now in an acquisition frenzy of companies that produce healthier products

The big difference between kids’ media and the food chain is that it’s not only a ‘big guys’ game anymore. One doesn’t have to be Disney Corporation to talk to your child. In case you didn’t know, most of the kids’ media today is produced by folks that have nothing to do with kids’ media. The main qualification required is coding and some creativity. Over 80% of items on the app stores are produced by ventures that have 3 people or less. Any Joe Shmoe can create an app and hope he’ll be the next Rovio.
